The Voices of Tomorrow project is "a global initiative amplifying young people's creative visions for the future through art".
How it was done
Voices of Tomorrow was launched by Curriculum for Life, a British charity whose mission is "to equip young people to develop and thrive during and after their educational journey" -- what they call Life Skills.
The project asked young people to "Create a vision of the future through drawing, poetry, music or another art form and submit it" online before May 21, 2025. It also provided the design for a simple workshop, addressed to educators and community leaders.
The project has received hundreds of submissions from 15 countries - mostly visual arts. A selected number of submissions is displayed in a virtual exhibition.
The project's team also intends to "identify themes in the works and share them with leaders to shape our future", although no schedule is available.
What they imagined
Since the thematic analysis of submitted works is not yet accessible, sorting through the hundreds of submissions is difficult. A few recurring themes seem to emerge:
- Personal opportunities through education and work, particularly for girls.
- Peace (and war).
- Being together, understanding between humans, and sometimes between humans and nonhumans.
- A love of, or a nostalgia, of Nature; pollution and climate change.
- Technology, often a source of hope and enthusiasm, sometimes a source of fear or suffering.
- Youth as, by itself, a source of hope for a better world.
